The main focus of the position is to provide Windows systems administration and support. This position also supports other technologies within the group.
Additional technologies may include VMWare, Linux, UNIX, SAN/NAS, etc. This is a highly challenging and progressive team environment with an opportunity
to work alongside infrastructure engineers and architects.
Position Activities
· Resolves tier 2 and 3 incidents and requests.
· Responsible for Disaster Recovery testing and restoration of critical services during DR events.
· Participates in capacity and scalability planning.
· Researches, develops, and implements new technologies and practices.
· Develops automation tools and processes to help scale operations.
· Audits and monitors the health and availability of systems.
· Mentors junior systems administrators.
· Partners with the engineering, infrastructure, security and project management teams to help implement new systems and improve existing ones.
· Develops and maintains positive and cooperative relationships, inside and outside of teams, interacting in a friendly, open, honest, and accepting manner.
· Provides systems and services expertise and drive operational best practices.
· Ensures 24/7 availability of the production servers and applications within a team environment.
· Works with technical writers to develop internal SOPs and Service handbooks for key systems and services.
· Leverages appropriate technical tools with direction to perform day-to-day administration tasks, root-cause analysis and service restoration (such as back up,
Restore, failover, log interpretation, and performance monitoring).
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
· Experience with LDAP, Active directory, DNS and DHCP technologies.
. At least 5+ Years Of Windows System Administration / Windows Support
. Experience with Scripting & Automation (Powershell or similar)
· Experience with performance monitoring tools.
· Experience with Virtualization technologies such as VMware and HyperV.
· Experience with back up technologies.
· Experience writing detailed and clear procedures and documentations that are easy to follow.
· The ideal candidate will have a combination of proven technical experience and a solid foundation in operating systems. The candidate should also have
a very strong work ethic and have a natural tendency to take ownership of incidents & requests.
Highly Desired Requirements
· Advanced industry certifications such as MCSE, VCP, EMCISA etc.
· Strong Windows 2008 and 2012 administration experience.
